So after high school I went to an in state university because it was the number 1 college in our state with a disability resource center witch had all the technology I needed. With my mama being my number 1 advocate she would not let me go anywhere else. In college I was all about my classes, programs councils which brought all the programs to campus ( we had Trey Songs) and I was on the step team!
I would never forget trying to go to my first house party I was so excited and scared at the same time. I didn’t end up staying, I have some trama from house parties that I will get into later but needles to say I stuggeled with trusting people and I didn’t trust that the group of people I went with had my back. I ended up leaving early and walking back to campus alone praying the whole way.
Finding my college group of friends did not come easy for me. During my 2nd semester of freshmen year I got Whooping Cough which was part of the Pertussis Virus and had to come out of the dorms for about a month! I refused to drop my classes I was determined to push through. With the help of my mother and father I was able to make it! But through all of those trials it gave me the endurance push through and prepare me for adulthood. I would not change the way any of my years had gone or the ex’s I had because it all laid the platform for who I am today and how I view and value relationships.
College was defiantly one of my Summer seasons in my life ( it’s seems like a great season but sometime you get over heated and allergy’s start to bother you, you are happy when it first comes but you are happy to see it fade away after a while).
Remember Mama’s there a blessing in each season of your life find the blessings in them all. Especially the one we are in now. Remember Mamas our history / past makes us stronger.
Yes, Sunshine, freshman year had its challenges, but God, He brought you through as He always does! I can truly say that your life challenges have made you a stronger woman. You’ve faced them with grace and determination! I’m proud of you!
Love ya,
YOUR Mama
