Traditions …..

We all grow up with some type of tradition. It can be things that you may do on a spacific holidays, birthday or even on a daily basis! Traditions can be old or new but I encourage every Mama to create a tradition for your child. It provides them consistency, ritual and something to look foward to. Yesterday was my daughter birthday and we have made a tradition to to celebrate through out the weekend. Yes it sounds a bit much but it’s what we do! Our family has started a bunch of traditions some consist of, cutting our thanksgiving turkey with my Grandmothers knife set, morning prayers/devotions, homemade birthday cakes (thanks Amanda), cutting down our Christmas tree, we even do The Elf the Shelf (Christmas and Birthday Tradition 😩). Don’t get me wrong some traditions I love and others I wonder why I started in the first place!!But regardless how I feel my kids love them and to me it helps there foundation and it gives them something to build on as they grow up. This past weekend was full of new ways that our family celebrated my daughters birthday and honestly I loved it so much more then the old way! It was intimate and stress free! So I encourage all the Mama out there to start traditions with you family that will be constituent and long lasting! Your kids will truly appreciate the small things more then you think! In the comments share some of your family rituals or traditions! It can be as simple as family dinners!!! Whatever your doing keep it up and know that your a Blessed Mama!!

I make lasagna for Christmas dinner and after opening presents and taking baths, we get dressed in our pajamas and relax all day. I’m a busy mom so it’s important for me and the girls to have family time specifically on Christmas.

Check out that bday cake!!!! Traditions are important – many surround holidays like seeing bright nights, making cookies, getting new pajamas on Christmas Eve…and of course mommy made Bday Cakes!
